Mail Days May Need To Be Cut

WASHINGTON – Massive deficits could force the post office to cut out one day of mail delivery, the postmaster general told Congress on Wednesday, in asking lawmakers to lift the requirement that the agency deliver mail six days a week.

Please pray that this does not go through. If it does my husbands job will probably be cut. He is a sub for the United States Post Office, so if they go down to 5 days a week, they wouldn't need subs anymore. The reason they have subs is to give the regular mail carriers a day off, so my husband is only guaranteed 1 day a week. He usually gets more due to sickness and people just taking off.

Anyway, I just read this and I didn't like it too much:(

I had heard about this earlier. They had talked about doing this a few years ago, but it didn't go through. Hopefully it won't this time either.

I read this in the paper yesterday. That would mean a lot of job loss. hopefully it won't go through. I left you some bloggy love over at my food blog!

Oh that would be horrible! I will def. be praying! There are plenty of other areas they can cut back it, they shouldn't need to do this!

Considering that Obama's mantra is creation of new jobs -- 2.5MM of them -- and public spending to do so, I don't see the USPS being cut like this. It's a great way to get a higher postal rate though...

And thanks so much for stopping by my blog yesterday on my SITS day. I had so much fun and am still wading through wonderful comments. I hope you enjoyed yourself and that you come back to visit soon!

Oh, how terrible. Lots of hopeful thoughts your way!
